The City of Lake Charles Summer Explorer Camp returns in 2024 with a schedule jam packed with educational activities and exciting events put on by our Partners in Parks. Whether your child loves animals, airplanes, or arts, at this camp there is something for everyone! Each week has a unique theme, including visits from local organizations and industries who showcase the culture and opportunities in our Lake Charles area. This camp is for children ages 5-10. The camp schedule is outlined below:
Week 1 (June 3-7) - Community Superheroes
Week 2 (June 10-14) - Living Literature: Storybook Characters
Week 3 (June 17-21, no June 19th) - Aviation
Week 4 (June 24-28) - Louisiana's Animal Kingdom
Week 5 (July 1-5, no July 4th) - Olympic Games
Week 6 (July 8-12) - STEM
Week 7 (July 15-19) - Performing Arts
Week 8 (July 22-26) - Splish Splash!
***All parents who register their child must attend the mandatory Rules and Regulations Meeting in May. This meeting will supply you with all necessary information for your child to have a fun and safe camp experience! Birth Certificates are mandatory.
Drop Off is 7:30am, no earlier / Pickup is 5:00pm, no later.
*If campers are not picked up by 5:00pm, additional fees
will be assessed. These fees must be paid within 24 hours of late pickup. Fee
structure is as follows: 5:00-5:10pm = $10, 5:11-5:20pm = $20, 5:21-5:30pm = $30. After 5:30pm if
no contact is made by parent to center leader, authorities will be called.
Additional fees for late pickup after 5:30pm will be decided on a case-by-case
basis. Repeat late pickups may result in suspension from Summer Camp.
Campers must wear PROPER ATTIRE to participate in Summer
Camp. Proper Attire includes tennis shoes (no flip flops, crocs, or sandals),
shirts and shorts in adherence with CPSB dress code (no short shorts, crop
tops, etc.) Campers should be ready for active play! Jewelry is not permitted
for safety reasons.
